The Incomati Basin has shown significant inter-annual variability in its water accounts over
the years (Figure 7). Notably, 2003, 2005, and 2015 were marked by severe droughts, which
impacted water availability and stressed resources within the basin. Conversely, 2013 and
2021 experienced wet conditions, providing higher water availability and contributing to
different hydrological patterns. This variability highlights the basin's fluctuating water
dynamics, influenced by changing climatic conditions across different years.
