Horn of
The Horn of Africa is experiencing floods after suffering the
worst drought in four decades along with high levels of
conflict, locust infestation, and political instability. CIWA
worked to improve access to groundwater as the region’s
cornerstone of water security by expanding the knowledge
base on groundwater, strengthening the capacity of partners
to manage and develop this valuable resource, and improving
Africa regional initiatives focused on building resilience.
